Be Patient – It will be Worth the Wait !

By San Arora

The redevelopment of Keswick Barracks is closely tied to a land exchange agreement between the Commonwealth and South Australian governments.
The site looks like it will transfer ownership to the South Australian government in stages, starting soon.
Defence personnel currently stationed at Keswick Barracks are expected to be relocated within approximately three years under a leaseback arrangement.
Development activities on the site will begin after this transition is complete, likely in 2027 or later, depending on the readiness of new facilities for the relocated personnel.
The Keswick site is slated for urban renewal, which will include mixed-use developments and affordable housing as part of the state’s broader housing initiatives.
Along with the stunning redevelopment unfolding on the old Le Cornu site across the road the western rim of the Adelaide CBD they are both certainly writing an exciting new chapter for Adelaide.
This one will be worth the wait!
